Finally after all the talks, plans and procrastination we have finally made a trip to Genting Highlands in an impromptu fashion. The night before we were just chatting at MSN and randomly enough everyone wanted a semi retreat and what do you know? The next thing Chow and I drove up to Genting.

It was an experience driving up there and now I can say I've driven up there before :) *Driving Experience +1* Yes! Anyway, those who went on the random trip were:

Me, Chow, Jia Liang and Ben Sum

We stayed at the First World Hotel being cheap asses as we are and spent the whole day talking about how scary is this place, its probably haunted...who knows?

So what did we do? Probably the same thing everyone does in Genting except from gambling. It wasn't that exciting but heck its different from what we normally do. But of course we all had a marvelous time together!

I'm actually looking forward to Melbourne this time around, it's really boring here. Well thankfully enough Chinese New Year is here and that means ANGPAU ANGPAU ANGPAU, FOOD, FOOD, FOOD!!

Anyway, Happy Chinese New Year to all and have a blessed year around :)

Ripped this idea off from the ingeniously Pinkpau, of course I can't live up to her standard so i decided to come out with few tweaks of my own version - very much like the original of course. A warning to anyone who tries to attempt this, it will take AGES to complete! I started this during the afternoon and now I'm finally done with it! Argh

It was taken at Bangsar Puteri, Karl's Beisl a few days back. If I'm not mistaken Marc Fong took the picture. How was I feeling? Embarrassed because I hate birthday songs :(

This is Marc Fong, the apparent photographer of the first picture. I met him at Scotch College during my high school years. First thought of him? A loser because he listens to weirdo music but we're brothers now because he kicks asses for fun.

This is May Yeng, I've known her since standard 6 and we've been dating since form 2 till now. Though there were ups and downs she plays a big part in my life.

Disneyland, Hong Kong

I've always wished that one day I could go to Disneyland, it's like a dream for every little boy and girl and finally after 19 years the dream has came true - I've been to a Disneyland :) Despite the fact that Hong Kong's Disneyland is the smallest of them all but the euphoric feeling was ever present!

Look, even the freaking handle is Mickey. Who would thought a mouse, a tiny mouse could make it this far?

This is how generally Disneyland looks like from what I know, it starts off with Main Street USA and all the rides and amusement stuffs. Oh don't forget the train that will take you round the whole place~!

Hotels At Macau

The Venetian is a MUST stay/visit if you happen to be at Macau. It's probably one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever seen. Not only it offers beautiful scenery, sumptuous food, extravagant shopping, it gives you a feel of Venice - Indoor.

Apparently, The Venetian is the largest single structure in the whole of Asia. Amazing huh?

What is there to do in Macau? Probably visit all the famous hotels/casinos in town. The Venetian, Wynn, MGM, Casino Lisboa are just a few places to go. Not to forget the beautiful colours at night in each of these different hotels!

Sigh I'm beginning to hate the holidays. One more month+ to go and I feel like killing myself. Someone ask me out please.

Probably one of the most eventful moment of 07! Spending Christmas with my family at a different country - Macau! Not only it was my first time there, its was also the first time since 05' the whole family went abroad together.

What can I say about Macau? Forget Las Vegas because if you are looking for entertainment, night life, casinos and blablabla Macau is the new Las Vegas of the west! Not only you'll see countless 5 Star hotels, bright colourful lights, historic places and also gazillion pawn shops.

Whats the routine like for people around there? Win big at the casino -> buy a million dollar watch, lose big at the casino -> pawn your million dollar watch.

Anyway, here are some random photos of the places I visited.

Oh! Not to forget, if anyone of you are planning to go to Macau PLEASE for the love of God eat Egg Tarts and Almond Cookies because they are the closest thing to heaven at Macau.

C2C Camp 07

Procrastinator unite! Guess what? I finally found some time to blog and the amount of material I have is a mountain load. Anyway, I realized how jobless I am at Melbourne! At KL, time is nonexistence.

Um, should begin with the recent Church Camp i attended at Penang. Its the annual BGC camp and it's something i look forward to every year.

Arrived at Penang 3 hours late and the weather was miserable :(

Anyway, the pictures below are the sort of activities you'll expect in the annual church camp.

And not to forget, we also celebrated Choi Wan's birthday there :)

Taboo Finals

Yes I know it's been ages since I last blog! Well, it looks like I could be bothered this time. Anyway this is the Taboo Cup organized by Bangsar Gospel Center in order to raise funds for the upcoming Church Camp in Penang this WEDNESDAY!

My team consisted of May Yeng and Ben Sum. We got our ass whooped in the first stage of the tournament. However, two teams that didn't turn up that day and it gave a glimpse of hope to the losers and that turned out to be us due to the points scored.

Funnily, we made our way through to the grand finals. Don't ask us how we did it but in the end we lost to Choi Wan's team. It was great fun nonetheless!

Bangkok, Thailand Part 3

If I were to translate the meaning of Bangkok in one word, it would be shopping. Seriously, you can spend weeks and months shopping in Bangkok and you can't cover the whole city. Everywhere you go is OMG I WANT THIS .... and so you buy it and everything is so cheap which leads you to the end of the day carrying at least 10-15 bags of shopping goods.

There is just one thing about Malaysia's shopping malls, all their concepts are pretty much copied from overseas shopping malls. For example, Siam Paragon. Pavillion KL is exactly like Siam Paragon, from the well carried out food court, spacious walking areas and to the luxurious shops.

MBK can be regarded as the Sungai Wang of Bangkok but ten times bigger. The amount of technological goods in there can make you go gaga. From PS3, iPhones, DSLRs...only one can dream of owning them all eh? The shopkeepers are so dodgy that the prices they shout out for goods makes you go, are you for real? Lets take for example my dSLR equipped with AF lense was bought for RM5600, and they were selling it at Bangkok for only RM4900. How is this possible?

Ok, lets move on to other stuffs. The real view of Bangkok. Like street stalls :) They are the best I tell you because you can bargain all you like and be VERY happy for stuffs you buy in the end.

They always tend to open a price in an enormous amount and you have to cut 2/3 of it and give them a new offer and start pulling cockstunts like walking out of the shop and they will call you back and accept your offer. Bargaining is an art, and it's really funny at times.

And if you were to shop in Bangkok, don't forget to visit the wholesale market at Bo Bae because whatever you get out in the streets, these people sell it for 50% cheaper. The sad part was that I only found out of this place at the last day which sucked or not I would have bought so much more. Honestly, where can you find those funny wording t-shirts for RM5 and fits you perfectly?

I even visited the morning market to see how the life was in Bangkok and it was rather scrappy and it makes you feel really thankful sometimes on how good a life you're leading.

Bangkok, Thailand Part 2

So here it is, this is partly the reason why I went to Bangkok; to support my mum in the Asia Hairdesigner Association. The show involved two parts, one being a hairdressing competition whereby hairdressers compete in different categories and two being an international hairshow carried out by various hair salons in the Asian region.

I don't really take an interest in hairdressing, so I have no idea on how to blog on this event but I'm pretty sure the pictures can justify how intense the night was.

And that's all for now, quite a dull post huh? Will post about the happening places in Bangkok tomorrow. I hope.

Bangkok, Thailand Part 1

Just when I thought that I could finally enjoy my summer holidays at Malaysia, it was damped by the fact that I was going to Bangkok on the same day I arrived home. Anyway, thanks to Chow Vi for picking me up from KLIA. Barely managed to squeeze in some time for a mamak breakfast with Kur Win and Chow before heading off to LCCT with my sister and father.

It's the first time ever I had been in 3 countries over a day, turned my time backwards twice and traveled on a low cost carrier - Air Asia. Frankly speaking, Air Asia is not that bad at all! I would say that the pilot was definitely more experienced to MAS.

Anyway after 90+minutes of traveling in the air, I've arrived at Suvarnabuhmi Airport, Bangkok, Thailand. The airport terminal was crowded with foreigners and we had to queue up for ages just to get our arrival checked.

On the short notice, I was told that this trip was a "family" trip and after that I found out that I was attending my mum's hairshow. To such dismay, I was literally OMGWTFBBQ but in the end it turned pretty well as our accommodation was covered which means more SHOPPING.

I'm not too sure on how to break down my vacation on the blog but this is how it goes, I'm gonna start off with accommodation. Had the privilege of staying in a 5 star hotel at the State Tower, Lebua. Why 5 Star? I believe because they had a Sky Bar overlooking the whole city and the standard was so high that they did not even let me enter because I was wearing jeans. Geez

Sadly, we had to degrade our hotel to Prince Palace simply because my mum went back and my dad didn't wanted to waste good money on accommodation which we hardly spend anytime at.

The benefits of staying here is .... its located at the heart of the wholesale retailers which means BUY BUY BUY SHOP SHOP SHOP!

I Need Money :(

Exams are over and I'm on a high. This feeling sucks because you feel so easy going and you tend to spend so much because you just don't care. For the past two days, I've been spending too much on food and I need to work again to compensate my addiction to sumptuous food :(

Anyway, had dinner at Sofia's today because Marc had a craving for it. I believe Sofia's is the only restaurant so far in Melbourne that satisfies your hunger. Ben's Pollo Valentino could possibly feed 3 girls.

Guess what? I'm leaving Melbourne this Sunday, sorry for rubbing it in fellow Melbournians. I really hope I could pass my Accounting or not its Summer School for me but I'm certain that I will not do it this year.

The only drawback of not coming back during Summer is missing the Australian Open and bloody Wy Keith gets the privilege to watch the final and other opening matches! Then again I rather stay in KL for Summer just because everything I've come to love is at home.

Halloween Night

Alas, the day where we all have looked forward to has come to an end in mixed fashion. Jon Sum celebrated his 21st birthday dinner at Forefront yesterday with a bash. There was plenty to come soon after the dinner......

Hurried back home and got into our costumes for the Halloween night at VII. We all had different approaches to our costume choices. Me being the Magician, Ben the Baby Tiger, Jon self proclaimed a caveman but he was actually a Baby Bear, Marc being a prisoner and Aik Sin being a typical panchat.

Marc certainly can pull a prisoner disguise well enough. As so:

The hype was all around and it even prompted Wy Keith to go. Can you imagine someone who hates clubbing, loud music and alcohol chooses to go? Special appearance by Wy Keith in a Scream costume.

Overall a fun night but it would have been better if there was no drama involved. Bleh

Shall cut the story short, I was issued a fine on the tram because I didn't have a valid ticket but my case was I was about to buy a ticket and the freaking inspector didn't "allow" me. Argh

AUSD $162 and there is no way of escaping it. And if this was in Malaysia.........
You know what I'm talking about

Anyway, appealed to the infringement notice with all sort of randomness I could pull out of my ass part of it being true but added more spice :)

....But the result was a disappointment

I could have taken this case to court but going to court during the exam period and the fact that I'm going to fly home soon would be stupid. So I paid the fine which means I worked for one whole day just to pay this off. Sigh.

The long wait for Linkin Park Live has come to an end as we witnessed a sold out event by LP in the utmost screaming manner! Chow Vi bought these tickets for us at the beginning of the semester and I've been waiting ever since for this concert and it was surely worth the wait.

Had McDonalds for dinner and hurried our way down to Rod Laver Arena as we wanted to get to our seats without being worried of the crowd flooding in. Oh, 'us' were May, Chow, Aik Sin, Jon, Keith and Ben.

The concert began with Chris Cornell from Audioslave performing as a special guest for Linkin Park. I had no clue on whatsoever he was singing except for that one hit wonder which has a good tune to it. Anyway it was bloody boring for a guest star which resulted Ben to his usual antics of sleeping in major events.

Anyway, the pictures below will sum up the night.

Overall, a truly great experience for me! This is probably the first concert I've ever been too and it was amazing. Well, the only drawback that Linkin Park is probably not the best of bands to sing along with but heck.

Might upload the videos on Youtube later in the afternoon.

Apparently an illegal drug which is 'suppose' to regenerate tissue cells for a patient who suffers brain tumor. It is not official yet therefore its being tested on us.

Drawbacks

Getting infused and walking around with the drip wherever you go.
Not able to shower for 3 days
Bleed like a soldier every 1 hour and so
Lie down in bed whenever you're asked
Do stupid responses like squatting down, touching your nose, standing on your heels and squeezing the doctor's fingers
Getting woken up in the middle of the night

and a lot more..but heck

End result?

Getting my veins inflamed

Finally the holidays has begun. The bartending course came to an end yesterday and I'm a certified bartender and I can legally serve alcohol! Because of that we decided to party up and celebrate Marc's birthday as well since on Wednesday we didn't had a chance to drink. Woke up at 12ish pm to entertain a visitor/friend to Chow Vi from Sydney and because we were all awake by then we had a random impulse to go to the beach.

Who went? Jin, Ben, Marc, Aik Sin, Jon, May and Me. Arrived at the beach at 3ish and the weather was bad, real bad. We were all freezing our asses off and wishing it was summer :( But anyway, we storm through the cold to enjoy ourselves by indulging in beach soccer, camwhoring, cockstunts and so on......

Jon felt flat on his face and started tearing and said it felt like someone just punched my face. Talk about idiots, the Sum brothers never fail to impress.

I need more random outings like this. Expensive but worth it.

You can never look at doughnuts the same way after you take your first bite on a Krispy Kreme doughnut. I've never liked doughnuts and this has to be the only thing that makes me craves for one. Yummmm......

On the lighter side, today is Marc's birthday and we threw him a surprise. A sneaky surprise in fact because Marc had no clue on the whatabouts we were doing for him today.

Facial expression said it all. A very surprised Marc received his very first Manchester United jersey from us, obviously wrapped in the most cheapskate way. Haha. But heck Marc felt emotionally touched.

And I believe that this is a start for Marc whereby there will be many more celebrations, jubilee and cheers for this young fellow. Thanks for being one of the biggest sorhai I've ever met, all the good old times that we've shared - good & bad. Thanks for being a friend.

Want a challenge? Hard Rock Cafe, Melbourne offers all you can eat ribs every Thursdays for only $35.95 and this is available from 6pm to 9pm. Being very hungry barbarians, we boys headed down to Hard Rock last week for the challenge of 5 servings each.

Verdict - Last man standing = Ben however he suffered major cramps in his stomach which resulted to Eno and the whole night whining and promising us that he will never eat that much again. Ben had 8 helpings to the racks (I believe) and the rest had around 4-5 per.

In my opinion the first two servings of the racks were delicious but soon after the taste gets to you and you feel like throwing up. I believe all you can eat should be done once in a blue moon only. Hah.

It seems that poker now is the way to kill time and we've been playing poker almost everyday. I need something new...something productive...something innovative to do these days. Melbourne does suck some happiness from your life sometimes, its so gloomy and dead here. I wish I could go back to Malaysia for the winter break.

Can you imagine three of us going to Victoria Market at 6:30am?

And yes, my body clock is screwed. Yesterday or rather today, 8:40am ish was my bedtime. Thankfully the bartending course starts tomorrow which forces me to sleep early tonight. Adios

After years of watching football on TV, the prospect of watching international football stars live is amazing! Yesterday the long awaited match - Argentina VS Australia @ Melbourne was held at Melbourne Cricket Ground and it was the first time ever I witnessed a live football match. Had the pleasure of watching the game with May, Chow and Keith.

Headed down to the ground at 6:00pm when the game is at 7:30pm, because Keith said he didn't wanna miss this for the world but it was cool because I took heaps of pictures of the game and stadium but sadly none of them were close up. I really want a SLR now. Canon or Sony though?

I thought I was Aussiefied enough since I know how to sing the national anthem but apparently this song, I still call Australia home is a big hit for the country. I have to say it is quite a moving song for the country.

I reckon the game overall was pretty crap but nonetheless experiencing a live match was tremendous! Was expecting a goal galore but the Argies only scored one pathetic goal. OH, watching Messi dribbling pass everyone was a beauty and Tevez played like a panchat.

8000 less to the Old Trafford crowd, imagine how is it like at the Theatre of Dreams. So wanting to go to Manchester this summer vacation. One thing that I've come to like is watching football with a wild crowd, the cheers makes the game even more exciting in some prospects of the game.

And tomorrow - window shopping for camera :) Oh yes and the holidays have started! 2 weeks, schweeeet.

Chow Vi: OMGWTFBBQ, Argentina is training at Princess Park at 4pm today! and the first 50 will be eligible for an autograph session with the Argies. Imagine taking photos with Tevez, Mascherano, Messi and and and.............

Action? We ran to princess park at 3:15pm hoping that we can make it for the session. In any case watching the Argentina Squad train in open play is sexy enough.

Reached the stadium at 3:30 and the queue was about 300+ Disappointed as we are, it was still good because we get to watch Argentina train!

The stadium seats were pretty crap, then again its free entry. But the concern was that most of the people in the stadium was wearing Australia Jerseys and we asked Chow Vi are you sure Argentina is going train here?

Damn It! Turned out that the Socceroos were the ones training here instead of Argentina. Herald Sun conned us :( Nevertheless, the atmosphere was enjoyable and its not like everyday you get to see professionals train in front of you.

It was quite disappointing knowing that Kewell, Cahill and Viduka didn't turn up. Don't know what happened to them but anyway got the chance to see Schwarzer, Bresciano and Archie. Oh, this open training is Australia's warm up ahead to Tuesday's match against Argentina. Oh yes I'm excited :)

Woke up at 6:30am yesterday for one of the most random thing I've ever done for awhile. Thank God for Chow Vi (The Connex Expert) for following me to Heidelberg Hospital. If it wasn't for him I will probably be lost wandering in the suburbs.

Spent 3 hours in the hospital undergoing a fMRI scan as a volunteer for an Interactivity Brain Research. Had to lay down in the scanner for about 1 hour answering questions about Blood Alcohol Concentration and Global Warming by pressing buttons repetitively. And why volunteer?

All for the sake of $100 :) My first time earning $100 AUSD and it feels so good!!! I need a job, period.

On the lighter side, spent the evening at Gravity Bar for two purposes:

And viola, our trip to the village of orang utans and elephants. The "village" was pretty well constructed. They even installed heaters around the place to give the warm feeling of Thailand/Malaysia. You could even find paddy fields and banana plantations at the Zoo.

....and there were no wild monkeys. Bleh

Spent 4hours+ at the Zoo and it was terrific. First time going there and it is worthwhile place to go back but you need more than 4hours to cover the whole place. I didn't get to see the penguins!! Disappointing :(

Sadly our plans to go to the Zoo went down the hill after we found out that the Zoo closes at 5pm on weekdays. So where to? Essendon DFO. It's my first time here after prolonging for ages. IMO however, it is not that great. DFO at Spencer would equate to the needs of the shopper.

Looks like some super huge Megamall BUT it's in conjunction with many other furniture shops and JB Hi-Fi.

After much shopping at DFO we returned home and cooked dinner.
And all these doing is for the sake of Pearly :P

Yet another weekend of the same routine but this time around Pezhmen and Kharlene paid us a visit. It's been awhile since we had a drink with them. The night was pretty good at the start until things turned sour at the end. It involves burning Marc's feet, Aik Sin getting into a major argument with Marc and a double headbutt by the Sumbo's at Marc to knock him out. Hahaha

An uneventful night resulted into singing the lyrics of Toy Box - Jane & Tarzan, "Hey cheetah get banana! Hey monkey get funky!"

Laughing my ass out with Ben on how retarded these people are and suddenly Wykeith called and asked if I was downstairs. I was like WTF are you on about, and he said there is a fire you moron hurry and get down. At that point I thought he was joking until I ran out and witnessed the cloud of smoke.

Woke up my housemates and we all decided to bring stuffs out in case this was a serious one. Aik Sin being a dumb ass took his passport and air ticket hoping that Verve will blow up so he could fly home and I just took my camera :D

We learned that during a fire we have to take the stairs but being lazy asses we took the lift and thankfully the firemen were in there but funnily we got told off because we took our time getting out of the apartment.

Highlight: Aik Sin screaming 'I don't wannna dieeeeeeeee, I finally got my bao bei'

Funny how you get to see people bringing down their belongings. Eg: Designer bags, Guitars? wdf c'mon, Laptops and etc. I thought we were suppose to dump them all and bring yourself to safety? LOL

It's been ages since I last updated my blog. This shows how lazy I am at home. Heh.

Cruising around town with Ben's City

Most random thing done this holiday - Driving around KL aimlessly at 2am+ with Ben and Chow Vi. Partly we wanted to explore KL to see the night life and learn some road direction for the Amazing Race (In case we are needed to drive around KL).

Outside Beach Club - why can't there be that many cabs in Melbourne. Boohoo.

Finally we went to the infamous 'Fei Kai' Jia Liang has been talking all this while.
Honestly, its not that good. Chicken Rice? Section 17 anyday.

Another random thing we did was to test out the SMART Tunnel, pretty smart in fact.
First tunnel with reception and probably the longest - 4km apparently.

Can you stop your car in the SMART Tunnel and take a picture?

Enough of the randomness. Went to check out Sunway Pyramid yesterday and was Kiasu enough to jump on the Free Buggy Service to the mall. How lazy :X

Salezilla - there was nothing, absolutely nothing in Sunway. I used to think Sunway was one of the best malls around town but now its so run down, feels like you're shopping in one of those poorly operated malls.

So what did we (Chow, Ben and I) do in Sunway? Had to wait for this girl to do her hair. Met Ju and Sara at the salon as well. In case you didn't know Ju is blonde. So 'lala' :p

And yes Darkness is back. Had a chance to meet up with him today at Coffee Bean with Shahmeez and Kur Win. So nostalgic I tell you. Spent 2 hours talking about childhood and football. Tomorrow? Another catch up session with Ian Hooi.

Yes! Birkys is a must buy I tell you! They are comfy and funky. Apparently Ian bought the same pair as I did, great taste think alike I say.

Finally I've got a new laptop after 3 and a half years with the Acer which barely can run anything these days. The HP is AWESOME! Did I tell you that you can alt tab DotA to MSN without hanging? Yes call me jakun. And for those doubters out there on Windows Vista *ahem* Jia Liang - who believes that most applications can't run on Vista. Simple.

Did you know that the eagle has the longest life span of its species? It can live up to 50 years but to reach this age the eagle has to make a decision in its 30's

It's long and flexible talons can no longer grab its prey. It's beak becomes bent.

It's old aged and heavy wings, due to its thick feathers, gets stuck onto it's chest and make it difficult to fly.

The eagle then is left with 2 options: to die or go through a painful process of change

The process requires the eagle to fly to the mountain top where it begins knocking out its beak until it plucks out then it'll wait for a new beak to grow out and then it starts plucking out it's talons and waits for it's new talons to grow back and then it plucks out all the old-aged feathers.

After the change the eagle takes its famous flight once again

Why is change needed?
In order to survive we need to change.
We need to get rid of old memories, habits and past traditions.
Only freed from past burdens, can we take advantage of the present.

Master of Alcohol - Marc

Random Friday Night - decided to move the alcohol altar up to Chow Vi's place since I'm gonna move there next semester. While wiping the bottles I realized how much we have drank. Quite scary to think about how much alcohol we have consumed in 5 months, or should I say Marc, Aik Sin and Pezhman - who have contributed at least 70% of their share in consuming the alcohol. Each bottle has its own story and it brings back memories of what we have achieved and done over our first semester in Uni. From 'Nah, I don't drink' before to 'PLEASE can we just drink?' and all of this started at Platform 1. Neat.
